Terms, disclaimer & privacy

1. Terms of use

You may view and use the Projects for personal, lawful purposes. You may not use them in any way that breaks the law, infringes someone’s rights, or interferes with their operation or with other people’s use of them. I may change, suspend, or remove any Project — or restrict access to it — at any time and without notice. These terms apply each time you use a Project.

2. Disclaimer & no warranty

The Projects are provided “as is” and “as available”, with all faults and without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the maximum extent permitted by law I disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, and quiet enjoyment.

I do not warrant that any Project will be accurate, complete, current, reliable, secure, uninterrupted, or free of errors, bugs, or harmful components, or that defects will be corrected. Any material you rely on is at your own risk. Some jurisdictions don’t allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.

3. Fictional, satirical & parody content

Several Projects are creative works of fiction, satire, or parody. This includes, without limitation, UW–Porter Falls Polytechnic (an entirely invented university) and Jackface. (Artifactory is a real small storefront — its own ordering, shipping, returns, and privacy terms are on that page, under this notice.)

• Institutions, programs, statistics, events, quotes, and people in the parody Projects are invented.
• Nothing in them is a statement of fact, an offer to sell, a solicitation, or advice.
• They are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any real university, company, brand, agency, or individual, and any resemblance to a real one is for commentary, criticism, and parody.
• Real names, marks, or logos that appear are the property of their owners and are used only nominatively or as parody.

4. Not professional advice

Nothing across the Projects — including any operations, business, or “kernels” content, the Foundations of Chemistry /Solute course, any worksheet or template, and any answer from an AI feature — is professional advice. It is not legal, financial, tax, accounting, investment, medical, mental-health, safety, engineering, or academic-credit advice, and it does not create any professional relationship.

Do not perform any chemistry, electrical, mechanical, or other experiment or procedure based on content in the Projects. Consult a qualified professional and follow authoritative, current sources before acting on anything you read here. Educational content may be simplified, incomplete, out of date, or wrong.

5. AI features

Some Projects include AI assistants or generated text (for examplePoly on UW–Porter Falls, and bring-your-own-key chat inSnakeys). AI output can be inaccurate, biased, outdated, or fabricated, is not reviewed by me, and should not be relied on. Where a feature asks you to supply your own API key, that key is used only to serve your request as described in that app and is your responsibility. Don’t submit confidential or sensitive personal information to any AI feature.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any Project or its infrastructure, or breach or circumvent security or authentication;
• access the Projects with bots, scrapers, or automated means except well-behaved indexing consistent with robots.txt;
• overload, flood, or abuse any form, API, email relay, or AI endpoint, or attempt to exceed rate limits;
• reverse engineer or decompile any part of a Project except to the extent the law expressly permits;
• use a Project to build a competing dataset or model, or to generate unlawful, infringing, harassing, or harmful content;
• remove or obscure any notice, or misrepresent your affiliation with me or with any Project.

7. Things you submit

Some Projects let you send or post content — a message through the contact form, a drawing on the Doodle Wall, a map pin, a game score, and similar. You keep whatever rights you have in what you submit, but you grant me a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and use it to operate and show the Project.

Only submit content you have the right to submit, and don’t submit anything unlawful, infringing, deceptive, hateful, or abusive, anything containing malware, or other people’s personal information. I may remove any submission and restrict access at any time, for any reason.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will I (or anyone involved in creating or hosting the Projects) be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of — or inability to use — any Project, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or any other theory, and whether or not I was advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, my total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Projects will not exceed USD 100 or the amount you paid me to use the Project (which is normally nothing), whichever is greater. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud), it is limited only to the minimum extent the law requires. Some jurisdictions don’t allow some of these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify and hold me harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of a Project or your breach of these terms.

9. Intellectual property

Except where noted, the Projects and their original code, text, design, and artwork are © Jack Alfred Davison Blaker and are protected by copyright and other laws. Open-source components, fonts, and third-party assets remain under their own licenses. You may link to the Projects and make personal, non-commercial use of them; any other reproduction, distribution, modification, or commercial use requires my prior written permission, except as the law expressly allows. Trademarks and brands referenced for parody or commentary belong to their respective owners.

10. Third-party sites & services

The Projects link to, embed, or are hosted on services I don’t control — including Cloudflare, GitHub, Google Firebase, model providers reached through AI features, and separately hosted apps such as those atcanyouseethefuture.com, snakeyss.com,relayriver.run, *.workers.dev, and*.fly.dev deployments. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices, which govern your use of them. I’m not responsible for third-party content, availability, or conduct.

11. Privacy

I try to collect as little as possible. There is no advertising and no third-party behavioral tracking, and I never sell personal data.

Hosting logs

The Projects are served through Cloudflare. Like any web host, it processes standard request data (such as IP address, user agent, and timestamps) to deliver pages, block abuse, and keep the service secure. If a privacy- friendly, cookieless analytics token is configured for a deployment, aggregate page-view counts may be recorded; no cross-site profile is built.

Contact, request-access & assistant follow-up forms

When you use a contact form, a “request access” form, or the optional follow-up form the UW–Porter Falls assistant (Poly) offers when you seem interested in a program, whatever you choose to enter — an email is the only required field; you may also add a name, phone, program of interest, your student type, and a rough start date — plus, for the assistant form, the page you were on and a short excerpt of that chat, is emailed to my private inbox so I can reply. A salted hash of your IP address plus a timestamp is stored briefly and only to enforce rate limits — not the message content and not your raw IP. I use what you send only to respond to you, and I never sell or share it.

On your device

Some Projects store small amounts of data in your browser (localStorage / sessionStorage) — things like a remembered filter, a theme choice, an unsent draft, or game state. That data stays on your device and is not transmitted to me.

Apps with accounts

A few Projects (such as Kin and Epoch) have their own sign-in and store data you enter to provide their features. Their in-app notes describe what they keep; some use Google sign-in and Firebase.

AI features

When you use an AI feature, your prompt and any context the app retrieves are sent to a model provider (for example, through OpenRouter) to generate a response. That provider processes it under its own terms. Don’t enter sensitive personal data.

Your choices

You can clear browser storage at any time through your browser settings. To ask what, if anything, I hold about you, or to request deletion of a message you sent, contact me (below) and I’ll do what is reasonable and lawful. The Projects are not directed to children under 13, and I ask that such children not use them or submit information.

12. Changes

I may update this page at any time. Material changes take effect when posted, and your continued use of a Project after that means you accept the updated terms. The “last updated” date at the top shows the current version.

13. Governing law

These terms and any dispute arising from the Projects are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, USA, and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Wisconsin for any dispute not subject to arbitration or small-claims court, to the extent permitted by the law that applies to you.
