The Valley first
Applied projects are scoped to Porter County and the surrounding Valley before anywhere else — a market study for a Cedar Bluff maker, a cybersecurity check for a county clinic, a tourism plan for the Riverfront. The work is real, supervised and delivered on a schedule a small organisation can use.
Where the university plugs in
Porter coordinates its expertise with the Porter County Economic Development Corporation and state programs so a business gets one point of contact instead of a directory. Requests come in through the outreach office and are matched to a course or a faculty team.
In and around Porter Falls
Porter Falls is a town of about 17,000 that has always shared its workforce with the university, and the outreach office is the front door for that exchange — summer academies for county middle-schoolers, contract training on the floor at Valley manufacturers, and the small-business clinic run out of Foundry Coworking downtown. Projects are scoped to the Valley first: Porter, Cedar Bluff and Redgranite before anywhere else.
