What emeritus status means
A retiring faculty or academic-staff member with a substantial service record is recommended for emeritus standing, which is an honorary continuation of affiliation rather than a paid role. It carries library and email access, a parking option, invitations to convocations, and a shared workroom. It does not carry voting rights in governance or a claim on office space.

The Emeriti College is not just a title list. Members co-teach first-year seminars, sit for the university's oral-history archive, run a lecture series open to Porter Falls residents, and are among the steadiest donors to student scholarships.
