What Porter is

A polytechnic university: every undergraduate program is hands-on, project-based, and built around a required co-op or internship, with a bundled laptop and course materials so the cost estimate is close to the real cost. It suits students who learn by doing and want a clear line from a major to a job.

Who tends to thrive here

Students who light up in a lab or a shop, who want to see the point of what they are learning, and who value a first job as much as a first-year seminar. Undecided students do well too — first-year advising and major exploration are strong.

How to work with us

Request a counselor visit or bring a group to campus, use the transfer-course guide for your community-college advisees, and contact an admissions counselor for your region with specific student questions. We can also present to a class or a college-night audience.

Common questions

Do you take a holistic review?
Yes. Coursework rigor and trajectory matter more than a single test score, and secondary-admission programs weigh readiness in the prerequisites.

What about students who need developmental coursework?
Placement testing routes students into the right starting course, with co-requisite support rather than a long remedial track where possible.

Fictional information

UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. The offices, steps, dates, and contacts described here are invented; nothing on this page is a real process you can complete.
