Student access
Scholarships and emergency grants help students enroll, persist and complete degrees.
Applied experiences
Gifts fund materials, travel, competitions, certifications, research and unpaid community experiences.
Learning environments
Targeted projects update laboratories, studios, collaborative spaces and technology while supporting long-term maintenance.
A short list on purpose
Porter asks for money for three things: keeping students enrolled, paying for the hands-on parts of a Porter education that tuition does not cover, and maintaining the labs and studios that make the model work. The priorities do not change every year.
Where a gift lands
A scholarship gift is spent within the year on a named student; an applied-learning gift buys the steel, the plane ticket or the certification exam a student could not otherwise afford. Endowment gifts include a maintenance line so a renovated lab stays usable.
In and around Porter Falls
The UW–Porter Falls Foundation shares the Depot with admissions, which is deliberate: the people who fund scholarships and the students who receive them use the same front door. Most gifts to Porter are small, local and recurring, and the priorities list is short on purpose.
The practical details
Largest fund: Student access: scholarships and emergency grants. Applied-learning fund: Materials, travel, competitions, certifications. Every gift: Acknowledged; most are small and recurring. These specifics can shift from term to term, so confirm anything time-sensitive — a deadline, an appointment, an eligibility rule — before you count on it.
If you have a question
This is handled by UW–Porter Falls Foundation & Alumni Relations (Welcome Center at the Depot). Call (715) 555-0280 or email foundation@uwporterfalls.edu during the fall and spring terms, or use MyPorter to send a message or book a time. If another office turns out to own the question, they will pass it along rather than send you back to the beginning.
Fictional information
UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. Every office, person, building, phone number and statistic on this page is invented; nothing here describes a real institution or a service you can actually contact.
