Prospective students meet program faculty, tour labs or clinical facilities relevant to their program, and get a direct overview of assistantship and funding options rather than reading about them online.
Can't make the date
Programs will usually arrange an individual video meeting with faculty for an applicant who can't attend the group visit day, though it does not include the lab tour or group Q&A.

Porter's eight graduate programs are small and applied — most students are working in the Valley while they study — and the Graduate School office in Millwright Hall keeps the handbooks and funding notices in one place.
The practical details
When: One day each fall, one each spring, per college. Includes: Faculty meetings, lab tours, a funding and assistantship overview. Cost: Free; travel not covered. Anything time-sensitive — an accommodation, a booking, a deadline — is worth confirming directly before you rely on it, because the specifics here can change from term to term.
