Student data

Standard reports cover enrollment, demographics, retention, graduation, credit production and degrees awarded.

Surveys and outcomes

The office coordinates student experience surveys, graduate outcomes and internal program information.

Responsible use

Published reports protect privacy; detailed data requests require a legitimate purpose and appropriate access.

The fact book

Porter’s enrollment, demographic, retention and completion numbers are compiled once each term from the student system and published as a fact book that every office works from. When a figure on this site and a figure in a news release disagree, the fact book is the tiebreaker.

Privacy in the numbers

Published reports never show a cell small enough to identify a person, and detailed extracts require a stated educational purpose and the right access level. Survey participation is voluntary and results are reported in aggregate.

In and around Porter Falls

University Communications sits in Millwright Hall and handles the parts of Porter that outlast any one semester — the archives in Halvorsen Library, the fact book, the response when a reporter from the Lake City paper calls. The founding manual-training mission from 1893 is still the reference point for most of what this office says publicly.

The practical details

Census date: Tenth day of each term. Standard reports: Enrollment, retention, graduation, degrees, credit load. Data requests: Reviewed for purpose and access. These specifics can shift from term to term, so confirm anything time-sensitive — a deadline, an appointment, an eligibility rule — before you count on it.

If you have a question

This is handled by University Communications (Millwright Hall, Room 210). Call (715) 555-0250 or email news@uwporterfalls.edu during the fall and spring terms, or use MyPorter to send a message or book a time. If another office turns out to own the question, they will pass it along rather than send you back to the beginning.

Fictional information

UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. Every office, person, building, phone number and statistic on this page is invented; nothing here describes a real institution or a service you can actually contact.
