Send the official record
Request an official Joint Services Transcript or Community College of the Air Force transcript and have it sent directly to Porter. The Registrar evaluates formal courses and occupations using recognized credit recommendations, then asks departments to review technical material that may match a major requirement.
How credit may apply
A recommendation can become a direct course equivalent, a general-education or major elective, lower- or upper-division elective credit, or no credit. Academic level and content—not the length or difficulty of service alone—determine placement. Physical education, leadership, technical training, health, and general electives are common outcomes.
Evaluation starts the planning
Meet with the veteran adviser and academic adviser after credit posts. They will place useful electives intentionally, check prerequisites and residency, and identify whether a portfolio or departmental examination could demonstrate learning the transcript did not capture. More posted credit does not always mean fewer remaining terms.
Appeals and updates
If training appears to match a requirement but posts only as elective credit, submit the detailed course exhibit, occupational description, certifications, and portfolio evidence for department review. New training completed during reserve service can be evaluated through an updated official transcript.
Fictional information
UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. Every office, service, phone number, policy, and statistic on this page is invented; nothing here describes a real institution or a service you can actually contact.
