Arts Season Brings 64 Concerts, Plays and Exhibitions to Campus in 2026–27
A single season pass now covers music, theatre and the Furlong Gallery’s ticketed events, and students get in free with a Porter Card.

The College of Arts, Design & Communication has announced its 2026–27 arts season: 64 public events across music, theatre and the visual arts, published together for the first time in one calendar and sold through one box office.
What’s on
- Music: 28 concerts by the Wind Symphony, Jazz Orchestra, University Choir and chamber groups, plus faculty and guest recitals
- Theatre: four mainstage productions — the fall play, a devised piece built from interviews with Porter Falls residents, a winter drama and the spring musical — as announced in the theatre season earlier this year
- Visual arts: six Furlong Gallery exhibitions, including the senior and graduate thesis shows, listed on the exhibitions page
- Pep band: every home football game and most basketball games, free and loud
Tickets
Single tickets and season passes go on sale August 24. A public season pass is $48 and covers every ticketed event; single tickets are $8 to $15, and $5 for seniors 65 and over. Current students attend free with a Porter Card, and faculty and staff pay half price. Exhibitions remain free.
“We used to publish four separate calendars and wonder why people did not know a concert was happening. One season, one box office, one pass. It is not a revolutionary idea, but it was overdue.”
— Dr. Melissa Jacoby, dean of the College of Arts, Design & Communication
About 420 students perform in an ensemble or production each year, and fewer than half are arts majors. Auditions for most ensembles are held the first week of classes and are open to any student. The box office is in the lobby of the Applied Arts Building and is open weekdays from noon to 5 p.m. and one hour before every ticketed event; phone orders go to (715) 555–0226.
The season also adds four sensory-friendly performances with house lights partly up and a quiet room off the lobby, and American Sign Language interpretation for one performance of each mainstage production. Requests for other accommodations go to the box office at least a week ahead.

UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. The season, ensembles, ticket prices and box office are invented; no performance described here will take place.
