Home / Services for online students

Advising and registration

Online appointments and digital planning tools support program sequencing, registration and graduation review.

Academic support

Virtual tutoring, writing consultation, librarian appointments and accessible course materials are available across time zones.

Community and career

Online learners can join organizations, attend virtual events, use career coaching and participate in commencement.

Full support without the drive

Online students get the same advising, tutoring, writing help, career coaching, accessibility services and library access as on-campus students, delivered by appointment and built to work across time zones. Placement, registration and graduation review all happen remotely.

Still part of Porter

Online learners can join student organisations, attend virtual events, vote in student government and walk at commencement. Many are adult students in the Valley finishing a degree, and the community programming is built with that in mind.

In and around Porter Falls

Online and Extended Learning works out of the second level of Halvorsen Library and supports learners across Wesconsin and the Cities who rarely come to Porter Falls — many of them adult students finishing a degree started years earlier. Advising, tutoring, library help and career coaching are all offered by appointment across time zones.

The practical details

Advising: Video or phone appointments, evening slots available. Library: Scanning, mailed items, librarian video consults. Commencement: Online graduates are invited to the ceremony. These specifics can shift from term to term, so confirm anything time-sensitive — a deadline, an appointment, an eligibility rule — before you count on it.

If you have a question

This is handled by Online & Extended Learning (Halvorsen Library, Level 2). Call (715) 555-0128 or email online@uwporterfalls.edu during the fall and spring terms, or use MyPorter to send a message or book a time. If another office turns out to own the question, they will pass it along rather than send you back to the beginning.

Fictional information

UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. Every office, person, building, phone number and statistic on this page is invented; nothing here describes a real institution or a service you can actually contact.
