Dr. Elaine Vandehey

Elaine Vandehey became UW–Porter Falls' ninth chancellor in 2019 after seven years as dean of the College of Engineering & Technology, where she led the expansion of the college's co-op program to its current 97 percent placement rate.

A UW–Porter Falls graduate herself — Mechanical Engineering, 1996 — Vandehey worked for eleven years in manufacturing engineering roles before returning to campus as faculty in 2007. She is a frequent speaker on applied-education policy at regional higher-education conferences.

Her stated priority as chancellor is holding the line on the university's applied-learning requirement even as enrollment grows: “Every program keeps its internship, co-op or clinical. That is not the part we streamline when things get tight.”
