What you keep after graduation

A Porter degree comes with a standing set of alumni services at no cost: lifetime career coaching and resume review (career changers use this for years), access to the online job board and to alumni-only hiring events, a permanent forwarding email alias, transcript and enrollment/degree verification, and continued access to selected library databases and research help. You keep your affiliation with your college and department, and departments often invite alumni back for advisory panels, guest talks, and mentoring.

Benefits and community

Regional alumni chapters host gatherings in the cities where Porter graduates cluster; there are affinity groups by industry, identity, and student-organization legacy. Alumni get member rates on continuing-education courses and campus facilities, discounts through partner programs (insurance, travel, some retailers), library borrowing privileges, and an invitation to Homecoming and reunion years. The alumni association is free to join — there is no paid membership tier.

Ways to stay involved

The most valuable thing most alumni give is time, not money: mentor a current student through the formal program, take a mentee for informational interviews, post or refer a job, host a co-op or internship at your employer, speak in a course or a club, judge a pitch or capstone, or serve on a program advisory board that keeps the curriculum current. Volunteering is coordinated through the alumni office so it is matched to a real need and does not overload one department.

Giving

Gifts of any size go through the UW–Porter Falls Foundation and are tax-deductible; you can direct them to your department, scholarships, the student emergency fund, applied-learning and competition travel, or leave them unrestricted. Recurring monthly gifts, employer matching, appreciated securities, and estate commitments are all options, and named scholarships and endowments start at a set minimum. The Foundation publishes audited financials and reports on how restricted gifts were used.
