The Furlong Gallery
The ground-floor gallery in the Applied Arts Building runs five or six rotating exhibitions a year — faculty and visiting-artist shows in fall, the spring senior exhibitions where every graduating design and art student presents a body of work. It is open to the public at no charge whenever the building is open.
Public art around campus
Sculpture, murals and installations placed around campus since the 1970s are mostly student and alumni work, commissioned through juried calls funded by a small percentage of major construction budgets — a policy that means a new building on campus reliably means a new piece of public art with it.
