What it is for

The Common Data Set follows a shared national format so a family, a researcher or a ranking publication can compare Porter to another institution using the same definitions, rather than each university's own marketing numbers.

Where the numbers come from

Every figure ties back to the same official source Institutional Research uses for the fact book, so a number here and a number on facts.html should always agree; if they don't, that is treated as a bug in one of the two pages, not a rounding difference.

In and around Porter Falls

University Communications sits in Millwright Hall and handles the parts of Porter that outlast any one semester. The founding manual-training mission from 1893 is still the reference point for most of what this office says publicly.

The practical details

Published: Annually, each fall. Covers: Enrollment, admissions, financial aid, faculty, cost. Format: Standard sections so it can be compared across institutions. Anything time-sensitive — an accommodation, a booking, a deadline — is worth confirming directly before you rely on it, because the specifics here can change from term to term.

If you have a question

The office behind this is University Communications (Millwright Hall, Room 210). Call (715) 555–0250 or email news@uwporterfalls.edu during the fall and spring terms, or sign in to MyPorter to send a message or book a time. If it turns out another office owns the question, they will route it rather than send you back to the start.

Fictional information

UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. Every office, person, building, phone number and statistic on this page is invented; nothing here describes a real institution or a service you can actually contact.
