Course description

Lists, stacks, queues, trees, hash tables, and graphs, with the algorithms that operate on them and the cost analysis that compares them. Emphasis on choosing the right structure for a problem and measuring the result.

Data Structures and Algorithms is a lower-division undergraduate course in Computer Science (CS 2400), carrying 4 credits, and is typically offered fall and spring.

Prerequisites

CS 1200. Prerequisites are enforced at registration; a registration override from the department is required to enroll without them. It is one of the courses that later, more advanced courses build on, so a solid grasp here pays off downstream.
