About the event
International Education Week is when International Programs, the International Student Organization and the study abroad office stop working in separate rooms for five days. The week has two audiences. One is Porter students who have never left the Upper Midwest and are wondering whether a semester away is realistic. It usually is, and about 22% of graduates do it. The other is international students, who should not have to explain where they are from at every lunch table.
Mikel Stenberg, who directs International Programs and study abroad, says the most useful hour of the week is Monday’s peer advising. Students who went abroad last year tell you what it actually cost.

Fictional information
UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. This week, its events, films and menus are invented; there is no lunch to eat and no passport photo to take, and none of this describes a real international office.
