About the event
Registration is not exactly an event, but it is the one date this fall that every student needs on a calendar. The spring 2027 schedule of classes, which includes fourteen new courses, posts in MyPorter on Monday, October 19. That leaves two weeks to plan, meet your adviser and clear holds before your window opens.
Windows open by credits earned, including credits in progress this fall. Your exact time is on the MyPorter registration page from October 19. Spring classes begin Monday, January 25, 2027.

Location and access
Registration happens online, and the help desk is at the Registrar’s counter in Founders Union 105. On November 2 and 3 the counter opens at 7 a.m., not 7:45. If a screen reader or another tool has trouble with the registration page, call the Registrar and staff will register you by phone at your window time.
Before your window opens
- Check for registration holds now. Only the office that placed a hold can remove it.
- Meet your adviser. Many programs require an advising release before your window opens. See academic advising.
- Build a shopping cart with backups. Popular sections fill in the first hour.
- Missing a prerequisite? Ask the department for an override before your time.
Contact and related events
The rules for waitlists and permission numbers are on course registration, and common questions are answered in the registration FAQ. The next academic deadline is the final exam conflict deadline on November 30.
Fictional information
UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. These registration windows, dates and priority groups are invented for a fictional university. Nothing opens on November 2, and no seat can be registered for anywhere.
