What it is
First-year students move in over three days on 30-minute appointments booked through the housing portal. Around 300 returning students and staff run the unloading crews, so the median stop at the curb is about twenty minutes.
Move-in hands directly into Welcome Week. Residence life staff and floor resident assistants are in the buildings all day; the first required floor meeting is that evening or the next.

Getting there and getting in
The campus is 86 acres and nothing is more than a ten-minute walk from anything else; see the building directory for first-year residence halls. Accessible routes and entrances are on the accessible campus map. For an in-person event that lists registration, register through the office below; walk-ins are usually fine for anything marked open or free.
What to expect when you arrive
This one is limited to new residents, by appointment rather than the general public — bring the ID or confirmation that establishes you are in that group, since it may be checked at the door.
If you can't make it
This is a one-time event for its specific class or term rather than a recurring one, so there is no equivalent session later in the year if you cannot make it — check with the office below about any recording or alternate arrangement.
Fictional information
UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. This event, its date, venue and details are invented; nothing here announces a real event.
