Nadia Nakamura

Background

Nadia Nakamura is on the faculty of the Department of Computer Science and holds a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech. Before Porter, Nadia was a research staff member at a national laboratory.

Nadia's research focuses on computer graphics, with related work in embedded and cyber-physical systems; undergraduates are involved in the lab most terms.

Teaching

Nadia regularly teaches courses in Computer Science, Software Engineering. Specific sections and syllabi are listed in the class schedule each term.

Courses lean on current problems from the field: students read recent work, reproduce a result or method, and then extend it. Nadia builds in low-stakes practice before graded work and gives written feedback on drafts.
