Sana Okafor

Clinical Associate Professor, Humanities

Home / Departments / Humanities / Sana Okafor

Background

Sana Okafor is on the faculty of the Department of Humanities and holds a doctoral clinical degree from Kansas State University and is licensed to practice. Before Porter, Sana worked in public history and museums.

Sana brings that practice into the classroom, teaching from real cases and current standards in modern history and logic and philosophy of science.

Areas of expertise

  • Modern history
  • Logic and philosophy of science
  • Applied practice and industry partnerships

Teaching

Sana regularly teaches courses in History, Philosophy, Religious Studies. Specific sections and syllabi are listed in the class schedule each term.

Class time is built around cases and real deliverables. Students work to professional standards, present to a critique or a client-style panel, and revise. Sana keeps the connection to current practice explicit.

Advising and office hours

Sana advises students in the Humanities programs and holds weekly office hours during the fall and spring terms, posted on the office door and in the course pages. Prospective students are welcome to email to arrange a visit or a call.

Advising conversations usually cover course sequencing, whether to add a minor or a concentration, and how classroom work connects to internships, research, or graduate study. Students who are undecided are welcome; part of the job is helping them narrow things down.

Recent and representative work

Sana stays active in practice alongside teaching, through consulting, standards work, and applied projects in modern history and logic and philosophy of science. Representative items:

  • An applied project in modern history with an industry or community partner.
  • A workshop or short course on logic and philosophy of science for practitioners in the region.
  • Service on a standards, licensing, or advisory body related to modern history.

Titles and venues here are illustrative. UW–Porter Falls is fictional; Sana has no real publication record.

Get in touch

The fastest way to reach Sana is email (sokafor@uwporterfalls.edu); messages during the fall and spring terms are usually answered within two business days. Prospective students and families can ask the Humanities department office to set up a call, a class visit, or a meeting during an admitted-student day.

Fictional information

UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. Sana Okafor is not a real person; this profile, the degree, the email address and the background are all invented.
