What a board actually does
Each department's advisory board reviews the curriculum against what its members are actually hiring for, pilots new equipment or software before a program commits to it, and gives capstone project ideas pulled from real problems at their own organisations.
Advisory, not governing
Boards recommend; the faculty and the college curriculum committee decide. That line is intentional — employer input keeps programs current without an outside company setting academic requirements.
