A place to land
The Multicultural Center is a physical space — lounge, study rooms, a small kitchen, and event space — that cultural student organizations use as a home base, and where any student can drop in between classes. Staff know the campus and will walk you to the right office rather than hand you a phone number.
Support that follows you
Transition coaching for the first year, scholarship guidance (including the Foundation application and outside awards), leadership development and paid peer-mentor roles, connections to research and co-op opportunities, and staff who will advocate for you with an instructor or an office when something is not working. The center partners closely with the first-generation, LGBTQIA+, veteran, and international student communities.
Programs
Heritage- and history-month programming, cultural celebrations, identity-based graduation recognitions (a stole ceremony alongside commencement), community dialogues on campus climate, and a welcome program for new students of color and their families before the fall term.
Advocacy and reporting
If you experience identity-based harm, the center will support you and help you decide what to do; formal channels are bias reporting and, for discrimination, the Office of Equity & Access. The Student Ombuds is a neutral place to think a situation through first.
