Regional Packaging Manufacturer Donates $380,000 Testing Lab to Packaging Technology Program
The gift equips a new materials-testing lab for one of the few dedicated undergraduate packaging programs in the country.
A regional packaging manufacturer has donated $380,000 in testing equipment to the Packaging Technology program, outfitting a new materials lab capable of compression, drop, vibration and climate testing to the same standard used in industry qualification testing.
The program is one of a small number of dedicated undergraduate packaging degrees in the country, and recruiters from consumer goods and food companies visit campus specifically because so few programs exist.
The lab will be integrated into coursework starting spring semester, and will also be available for sponsored industry capstone projects.
