Ironclad Robotics Qualifies for Nationals for the First Time

The Ironclad Robotics Team placed second at its opening regional qualifier this weekend, clearing the points threshold for a national event for the first time since the club formed. The six-week build, done nights and weekends in the Makerspace, centered on a redesigned drivetrain that held up through every match without the wheel-alignment failures that ended last season early.

The team is student-run and open to any major with no experience required — this year's roster includes engineering, computer science, and business students working side by side, one of the club's usual selling points at the fall involvement fair.

Travel and entry fees for the national event are covered by a mix of the team's own sponsorship drive and a small college contribution; the team has already opened a push for additional sponsors ahead of the trip.
