How the cycle works
Employers post a role with an interview date. You apply by the deadline; the employer picks a shortlist; selected students book a slot in a schedule held in Career Services' interview rooms or over video. Some run a second round on site at the company.
Taking it seriously
These are real interviews with a compressed timeline. Prep as you would for anything — research, a mock interview, printed résumés — and treat the slot as binding. A no-show or a late cancel without a genuine emergency affects whether that employer keeps recruiting at Porter, so the program enforces it.
In and around Porter Falls
Career Services works with every major, but the pattern is the same across them: a required internship, co-op or clinical placement before graduation, listed on each program page. Ninety-six percent of Porter undergraduates complete one, most of them with an employer in the Valley or the Cities.
The practical details
Runs: Mostly September–November and February–April. Apply via: Handshake — watch for “on-campus interview” postings with a schedule attached. Etiquette: Accepting an interview slot is a commitment; canceling late can bar you from the program that term. Anything time-sensitive — an accommodation, a booking, a deadline — is worth confirming directly before you rely on it, because the specifics here can change from term to term.
If you have a question
The office behind this is Career Services (Founders Union, Room 160). Call (715) 555–0205 or email careers@uwporterfalls.edu during the fall and spring terms, or sign in to MyPorter to send a message or book a time. If it turns out another office owns the question, they will route it rather than send you back to the start.
Fictional information
UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. Every office, person, building, phone number and statistic on this page is invented; nothing here describes a real institution or a service you can actually contact.
