Why online at Porter

Porter is a hands-on polytechnic, and most of what it teaches needs a lab or a studio. Its online programs are the exception on purpose: degrees where the value is the coursework and the credential, built for people who already have a job, a technical background, or an associate degree and cannot move to Porter Falls or attend on a fixed schedule.

Every program below is fully online, asynchronous, taught by Porter faculty, and identical on the transcript to the on-campus version. Nonresident students pay the same price as Wesconsin residents.

Online bachelor's degree-completion programs

These are completion degrees: you transfer in roughly the first 60–72 credits — an associate degree or two years elsewhere — and finish the upper division online, usually 33 to 48 credits. Credit from Wesconsin technical colleges is accepted here even where other four-year programs will not take it.

• Organizational Leadership (B.S.)
  An online bachelor's completion for people already supervising or leading, built to finish a degree around a full-time job.
• Applied Management (B.S.)
  A broad online management degree for technical and skilled-trades workers moving into supervision and coordination.
• Information Technology Management (B.S.)
  An online IT completion degree that pairs current technical coursework with the management side of running a technology function.
• Manufacturing & Operations Management (B.S.)
  An online completion degree for production and skilled-trades workers moving into planning, quality, and plant leadership.
• Health Services Leadership (B.S.)
  An online completion degree for licensed and allied-health workers moving into charge, coordinator, and management roles.
• Professional & Technical Communication (B.S.)
  An online completion degree for people who write, document, and explain technical work — and want to do it as their job.
• Supply Chain & Logistics Management (B.S.)
  An online completion degree covering planning, procurement, transportation, and warehousing for people already working in the field.
• Applied Technology (B.A.S.)
  A Bachelor of Applied Science that builds directly on a completed technical associate degree — your trade is the major; Porter adds the bachelor's.

Online graduate certificates

Twelve-credit, four-course graduate certificates you can finish in about eight months part-time. Each one stacks into a master's degree — if you continue, the certificate courses count toward the degree.

• Data Analytics (Graduate Certificate)
  A 12-credit online graduate certificate in working with data — cleaning, analyzing, visualizing, and communicating it.
• Cybersecurity Management (Graduate Certificate)
  A 12-credit online graduate certificate in running a security program — governance, risk, incident response, and compliance.
• Instructional Design (Graduate Certificate)
  A 12-credit online graduate certificate in designing effective training and courses, for corporate and higher-education settings.
• Project Management (Graduate Certificate)
  A 12-credit online graduate certificate covering the full project lifecycle, aligned with the major professional frameworks.
• Quality Engineering (Graduate Certificate)
  A 12-credit online graduate certificate in quality systems, statistical methods, and continuous improvement for manufacturing and service.
• Applied Leadership (Graduate Certificate)
  A 12-credit online graduate certificate in leading people and change, for new and rising managers in any field.

Several of Porter's graduate degrees are offered fully online with the same admissions and curriculum as their on-campus cohorts: the M.B.A., M.S. in Data Science, M.S. in Cybersecurity, M.S. in Engineering Management, and M.S. in Manufacturing Engineering. Support for online students

Everything the campus offers has a remote channel: advising by video and phone, online tutoring and writing consultations across evening and weekend hours, library articles delivered to your inbox, career coaching and virtual fairs, disability accommodations that apply to the online environment, telehealth counseling for students in Wesconsin, and 24-hour technology support. Accreditation and state authorization

UW–Porter Falls is institutionally accredited, reaffirmed for the full ten-year cycle through 2036, and authorized to offer distance education to students in all fifty states. Specialized program accreditation, where it applies, covers online and on-campus students identically. Licensure-disclosure information for programs that could lead to a credential is published with each program.

How to apply

Apply online — no fee, no essay, a decision in about two weeks. For a completion degree, submit transcripts from every college you have attended and an advisor returns a transfer-credit evaluation before you commit. You can start in any of six terms a year.
