Family Weekend

The annual fall weekend built for families to visit during Millrace Week.

Home / Family Weekend

What the weekend includes

Families can sit in on an actual class with their student's permission, walk the Riverfront Trail tour, attend the Millrace Week football game together and join a Saturday-night family dinner in Founders Union.

Why it rides on Millrace Week

Scheduling Family Weekend during Millrace Week means families get the full campus energy — the alumni 5K, the Foundry pour, a packed football game — instead of a quiet weekend built just for them.

In and around Porter Falls

Most families reach campus from the west on US 12 or by regional coach into the Depot District, and the Welcome Center at the Depot is where visits start.

The practical details

When: The Friday–Sunday of Millrace Week, mid-October. Includes: Class visits, the football game, campus tours, a family dinner. Registration: Opens in August, some events ticketed. Anything time-sensitive — an accommodation, a booking, a deadline — is worth confirming directly before you rely on it, because the specifics here can change from term to term.

If you have a question

The office behind this is Office of Admissions (Welcome Center at the Depot). Call (715) 555–0143 or email admissions@uwporterfalls.edu during the fall and spring terms, or sign in to MyPorter to send a message or book a time. If it turns out another office owns the question, they will route it rather than send you back to the start.

Fictional information

UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. Every office, person, building, phone number and statistic on this page is invented; nothing here describes a real institution or a service you can actually contact.
