Small Business Clinic

Free consulting for very small and early-stage businesses across Porter County.

Home / Small Business Clinic

What a session covers

A faculty advisor and a small student team work through whatever the owner actually needs that week — a basic bookkeeping system, a first website, a lease negotiation question, a hiring decision — rather than a fixed curriculum.

Who runs it

Business, marketing and accounting students earn course credit for the work, supervised by faculty who review every recommendation before it goes to the owner; nothing leaves the clinic without that review.

In and around Porter Falls

Porter Falls is a town of about 17,000 that has always shared its workforce with the university. Projects are scoped to the Valley first: Porter, Cedar Bluff and Redgranite before anywhere else.

The practical details

Where: Foundry Coworking, downtown, Thursdays. Who it serves: Businesses under 20 employees, priority to new owners. Cost: Free. Anything time-sensitive — an accommodation, a booking, a deadline — is worth confirming directly before you rely on it, because the specifics here can change from term to term.

If you have a question

The office behind this is Office of Outreach & Engagement (Millwright Hall, Room 120). Call (715) 555–0235 or email engage@uwporterfalls.edu during the fall and spring terms, or sign in to MyPorter to send a message or book a time. If it turns out another office owns the question, they will route it rather than send you back to the start.

Fictional information

UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. Every office, person, building, phone number and statistic on this page is invented; nothing here describes a real institution or a service you can actually contact.
