Home / Campus tour options

Weekday visit

A 30-minute admissions overview and 75-minute student-led walk cover academics, housing, dining and student life.

Academic experience

Add a laboratory, studio or program meeting for a three-hour visit focused on a career area.

Group and virtual visits

Schools and community organizations can request group programs; individual students can choose a live virtual appointment.

Tours leave from the Depot

Every visit format starts at the Welcome Center at the Depot with parking in Lot D, then walks the Millrace path to Founders Hall, the Union and a residence hall. Student guides are current Porter students paid through work-study, not scripted actors.

Weather and access

Tours run in rain and cold; the route is paved, lit and step-free, and an indoor version is used when the wind chill drops below zero. Accessible transport around the loop can be arranged with two business days’ notice.

In and around Porter Falls

Most families reach campus from the west on US 12 or by regional coach into the Depot District, and the Welcome Center at the Depot — the restored 1911 rail station, two blocks from Founders Hall — is where visits start. Counselors travel to college and transfer fairs across Porter County, the Valley and the Cities each fall, and the office keeps Saturday hours during Millrace Week and through the month of April.

The practical details

Weekday visit: About 2 hours; offered year-round. Group minimum: 10 students, three weeks’ notice. Saturdays: Two per month, October and April. These specifics can shift from term to term, so confirm anything time-sensitive — a deadline, an appointment, an eligibility rule — before you count on it.

If you have a question

This is handled by Office of Admissions (Welcome Center at the Depot). Call (715) 555-0143 or email admissions@uwporterfalls.edu during the fall and spring terms, or use MyPorter to send a message or book a time. If another office turns out to own the question, they will pass it along rather than send you back to the beginning.

Fictional information

UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. Every office, person, building, phone number and statistic on this page is invented; nothing here describes a real institution or a service you can actually contact.
