What it's for
Getting a student to the conference where they're giving a talk or a poster — registration, transport, and lodging, reimbursed against receipts up to the cap. Co-authors who aren't presenting aren't eligible from this fund.
Stacking it
The travel fund is designed to be combined with a department contribution or a faculty grant; the office would rather split a trip three ways than be the only source and fund half as many students.
In and around Porter Falls
Research at Porter is applied and partner-driven: a Valley Health quality project, a DNR study on the Porter River, a manufacturing-process fix for a county employer. The Office of Research & Sponsored Programs handles the review and paperwork so the work can start on time.
The practical details
Award: Up to $600 undergraduate, $900 graduate, per year. Condition: You must be presenting, not just attending. Apply: At least three weeks before the trip.
