Degree planning worksheet

A term-by-term map of every course between you and your degree, built with your advisor and kept current.

Home / Degree planning worksheet

What it does

The degree audit tells you what's left; the worksheet decides when you'll take each piece. It surfaces the courses offered only in fall, the three-course sequences that must start on time, and the terms that would otherwise be 19 credits of labs. Advisors keep a template for each major.

Keeping it useful

A plan you made in year one and never looked at is worthless by year three. Bring it to every registration advising meeting, adjust for what you actually took and how it went, and use it to see the effect of adding a minor, studying abroad, or taking a lighter term.

In and around Porter Falls

Curriculum decisions at Porter run through the departments that meet in Founders Hall and the Applied Arts Building, then to Faculty Senate, then to the Provost in Millwright Hall. The pace is deliberately slow and the review calendar is published.

The practical details

What it shows: Each remaining requirement placed in a specific future term, with prerequisites in order and credit loads balanced. Build it: With your advisor after you declare a major; revisit every term at registration. Why: Catches a once-a-year course or a prerequisite chain before it costs you a semester. Anything time-sensitive — an accommodation, a booking, a deadline — is worth confirming directly before you rely on it, because the specifics here can change from term to term.

If you have a question

The office behind this is Office of the Provost (Millwright Hall, Room 300). Call (715) 555–0130 or email provost@uwporterfalls.edu during the fall and spring terms, or sign in to MyPorter to send a message or book a time. If it turns out another office owns the question, they will route it rather than send you back to the start.

Fictional information

UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. Every office, person, building, phone number and statistic on this page is invented; nothing here describes a real institution or a service you can actually contact.
