About the event
Preview Days are longer and broader than a weekday visit. Every college is open, faculty are around to talk, and you can apply on the spot. This is the first of six this year and usually the best-looking, because peak color on the river is the second or third week of October and the tour route crosses the Millrace.
The date is also Family Weekend for current students. Campus will be busy and The Forge will be loud. Prospective families have said they find that more reassuring than a quiet campus.

Location and access
Park in Lot D next to the Welcome Center. Your parking pass comes with your confirmation email. The tour is about a mile with one hill, and an accessible shuttle follows the same loop. Ask for interpreters or accessible transport at least five business days ahead, which means by Monday, October 19.
Tickets and registration
Free. Register online from the visit page or call (715) 555–0144 by Wednesday, October 21, or until the date fills. Tell us your intended program so the right college session is on your schedule. Students who live 60 or more miles away and meet the need criteria can claim the Preview Day Travel Grant when they register.
Contact and related events
Cannot make it? The November 14 Preview Day adds an engineering open lab, and weekday tours run all year. Seniors applying for merit aid should note December 1 on scholarship deadlines.
Fictional information
UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. This Preview Day, its agenda, its free lunch and its travel grant are invented; there is no open house to register for and no parking pass will arrive.
