Home / Events / Graduate Hooding

What it is

The evening before commencement: master's and doctoral graduates are hooded by their advisors, program by program, in a smaller ceremony than the main event. The hood's colors mark the degree and the field.

Tickets are not required; accessible seating and interpretation are arranged through the events office.

Where: Heritage Auditorium.

Getting there and getting in

The campus is 86 acres and nothing is more than a ten-minute walk from anything else; see the building directory for Heritage Auditorium. Accessible routes and entrances are on the accessible campus map. For an in-person event that lists registration, register through the office below; walk-ins are usually fine for anything marked open or free.

What to expect when you arrive

This one is limited to graduates and guests rather than the general public — bring the ID or confirmation that establishes you are in that group, since it may be checked at the door.

If you can't make it

This is a one-time event for its specific class or term rather than a recurring one, so there is no equivalent session later in the year if you cannot make it — check with the office below about any recording or alternate arrangement.

Fictional information

UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. This event, its date, venue and details are invented; nothing here announces a real event.
