Bianca Underwood

Background

Bianca Underwood is on the faculty of the Department of Biomedical Engineering and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado. Before Porter, Bianca consulted on design controls and verification testing.

Bianca's research focuses on physiological modeling, with related work in biomechanics and orthopedics; undergraduates are involved in the lab most terms.

Teaching

Bianca regularly teaches courses in Biomedical Engineering. Specific sections and syllabi are listed in the class schedule each term.

Courses lean on current problems from the field: students read recent work, reproduce a result or method, and then extend it. Bianca builds in low-stakes practice before graded work and gives written feedback on drafts.
