Background
Ingrid Molnar is on the faculty of the Department of Chemistry and holds a master’s degree from RMIT University, along with professional licensure and industry certifications. Before Porter, Ingrid was a bench chemist in pharmaceutical process development.
Ingrid brings that practice into the classroom, teaching from real cases and current standards in chemical education and analytical and instrumental chemistry.
Areas of expertise
- Chemical education
- Analytical and instrumental chemistry
- Applied practice and industry partnerships
Teaching
Ingrid regularly teaches courses in Chemistry. Specific sections and syllabi are listed in the class schedule each term.
Class time is built around cases and real deliverables. Students work to professional standards, present to a critique or a client-style panel, and revise. Ingrid keeps the connection to current practice explicit.
Advising and office hours
Ingrid advises students in the Chemistry programs and holds weekly office hours during the fall and spring terms, posted on the office door and in the course pages. Prospective students are welcome to email to arrange a visit or a call.
Advising conversations usually cover course sequencing, whether to add a minor or a concentration, and how classroom work connects to internships, research, or graduate study. Students who are undecided are welcome; part of the job is helping them narrow things down.
Recent and representative work
Ingrid stays active in practice alongside teaching, through consulting, standards work, and applied projects in chemical education and analytical and instrumental chemistry. Representative items:
- An applied project in chemical education with an industry or community partner.
- A workshop or short course on analytical and instrumental chemistry for practitioners in the region.
- Service on a standards, licensing, or advisory body related to chemical education.
Titles and venues here are illustrative. UW–Porter Falls is fictional; Ingrid has no real publication record.
Get in touch
The fastest way to reach Ingrid is email (imolnar@uwporterfalls.edu); messages during the fall and spring terms are usually answered within two business days. Prospective students and families can ask the Chemistry department office to set up a call, a class visit, or a meeting during an admitted-student day.
Fictional information
UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. Ingrid Molnar is not a real person; this profile, the degree, the email address and the background are all invented.
