Josephine Sato

Background

Josephine Sato is on the faculty of the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering and holds a doctoral clinical degree from North Carolina State University and is licensed to practice. Before Porter, Josephine worked in bridge inspection and rehabilitation.

Josephine brings that practice into the classroom, teaching from real cases and current standards in geotechnical engineering and construction materials.

Teaching

Josephine regularly teaches courses in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering. Specific sections and syllabi are listed in the class schedule each term.

Class time is built around cases and real deliverables. Students work to professional standards, present to a critique or a client-style panel, and revise. Josephine keeps the connection to current practice explicit.
