Read your degree audit before you register, meet your adviser during the advising window (it clears the hold), clear every hold two weeks early, and check the academic calendar for the drop and withdrawal deadlines.
When something slips
Go to office hours early, use tutoring and the writing center before you are behind, and talk to an adviser or a success coach the week you notice a problem — not during finals. A drop before the deadline is a routine fix; a late one is not.
Take care of yourself
The counseling center, the health center, the food pantry, and the dean's office are all prepaid through your fees and used by a lot of students. Using them early is the move.
Build the resume
Line up your co-op or internship a semester or two ahead with a career coach, get into undergraduate research, and take one leadership role in something you actually care about.

Talk to the instructor and an adviser this week. Depending on timing, options include a tutoring plan, a drop or withdrawal, an incomplete, or grade replacement by retaking it. Doing nothing is the worst option.

Meet an adviser in the program you want to move into, confirm how your credits count with a what-if degree audit, and submit the change in MyPorter.
