University Announces $15 Million Founders Hall Renovation

The 1912 building that houses the College of Business and part of the College of Arts, Design & Communication will be renovated in phases starting next summer.

UW–Porter Falls will begin a phased, $15 million renovation of Founders Hall next summer, addressing mechanical systems, accessibility and classroom technology in the 1912 building without closing it during the academic year.

Founders Hall houses the College of Business, the Office of Admissions, and several College of Arts, Design & Communication classrooms. The renovation preserves the building's original facade and the machine-shop floor now used as a small exhibit space near the main entrance.

Funding combines state capital budget dollars with gifts to the Founders Hall Preservation fund. Work will proceed one wing at a time over three summers to avoid displacing fall or spring classes.
