How the review runs
Credits from a regionally accredited institution come in first as direct equivalents where an agreement exists, then as departmental review for the rest — the department that teaches the Porter course compares a syllabus and decides whether it is an equivalent, a general elective, or not transferable. A grade below C usually does not transfer even when the course would.
Reading your evaluation
The transfer evaluation in MyPorter lists each incoming course, what it became at Porter, and how it applies to your program. A course that landed as 'elective credit' can sometimes be re-petitioned with more detail — assignments, a reading list — if you believe it matches a specific requirement. Do this early; it changes what you still need to take.
In and around Porter Falls
Most families reach campus from the west on US 12 or by regional coach into the Depot District, and the Welcome Center at the Depot is where visits start.
The practical details
Automatic: Courses already in the statewide transfer agreement map on their own. Case-by-case: Everything else is reviewed by the receiving department against a syllabus. Limit: A set maximum of credits may transfer toward a bachelor's; the last portion must be earned at Porter. Anything time-sensitive — an accommodation, a booking, a deadline — is worth confirming directly before you rely on it, because the specifics here can change from term to term.
If you have a question
The office behind this is Office of Admissions (Welcome Center at the Depot). Call (715) 555–0143 or email admissions@uwporterfalls.edu during the fall and spring terms, or sign in to MyPorter to send a message or book a time. If it turns out another office owns the question, they will route it rather than send you back to the start.
Fictional information
UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. Every office, person, building, phone number and statistic on this page is invented; nothing here describes a real institution or a service you can actually contact.
