Transfer credit preview

A self-service tool that shows how courses from another school are likely to transfer before you apply.

Home / Transfer credit preview

Using it well

Run your in-progress and completed courses through the tool to see which come in as direct equivalents, which as general elective credit, and which don't transfer. It's the fastest way to estimate how many terms you'd have left at Porter and whether a specific major is realistic.

The official step

After admission, a transfer credit evaluator reviews your official transcript against the catalog, and your major advisor confirms how each credit applies to degree requirements. Bring syllabi for anything the tool flagged as unclear — that's often what turns elective credit into a requirement match.

In and around Porter Falls

Most families reach campus from the west on US 12 or by regional coach into the Depot District, and the Welcome Center at the Depot is where visits start.

The practical details

What it does: Enter your previous institution and courses; it returns the likely Porter equivalents and how they'd apply. Coverage: Best for Wesconsin and Minnesota public colleges and common community-college courses; less complete for out-of-state or unusual courses. Not binding: A final, official evaluation happens after you're admitted and your transcript is received. Anything time-sensitive — an accommodation, a booking, a deadline — is worth confirming directly before you rely on it, because the specifics here can change from term to term.

If you have a question

The office behind this is Office of Admissions (Welcome Center at the Depot). Call (715) 555–0143 or email admissions@uwporterfalls.edu during the fall and spring terms, or sign in to MyPorter to send a message or book a time. If it turns out another office owns the question, they will route it rather than send you back to the start.

Fictional information

UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. Every office, person, building, phone number and statistic on this page is invented; nothing here describes a real institution or a service you can actually contact.
