The short version
Every graduate is a member of the Alumni Association from the day their degree posts. There are no dues. The board keeps declining proposals for a paid “premium” tier, and plans to keep declining them. To use most of what is below, claim your alumni account in MyPorter with your old student ID number and a personal email address. It takes about four minutes.

Partner programs
The Alumni Association has three partner agreements. Each was put out for bids and is reviewed every three years by the board’s finance committee:
- Auto, home and renters insurance from a regional mutual insurer, at group rates. The association receives a small royalty, about $18,000 last year, all of which funds the Alumni Association scholarship. You are never obliged to buy anything, and the insurer never receives the alumni mailing list.
- Rental cars and hotels. Discount codes for one national car-rental company and a short list of hotels in Lake City and the Cities, plus the university rate at the Porter Falls Inn when you come back to town.
- Depot District merchants. About 30 downtown businesses give alumni 10 percent off with the digital alumni card. The list is in MyPorter and changes as businesses do.
We do not sell or rent alumni contact information, to partners or anyone else.
What isn’t included
So nobody is surprised at a gate or a counter: alumni do not get free parking (visitor and event rules are on transportation and parking), student health or counseling services, free athletics tickets, or a tuition discount on degree programs. Members of the Ironclad Club get some athletics perks, but those come with the club, not with the diploma.
If you think a benefit is missing, tell Alumni Relations. The forwarding address and the free coaching sessions both started as suggestions from alumni.
Fictional information
UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. These alumni benefits, discounts, rates and partner programs are invented; there is no insurer, no discount code and no digital alumni card, and no store will honor this page.
