Twelve varsity sports, NCAA Division III, and a rivalry with Chippewa Valley State that gets its own week on the academic calendar.
Varsity sports
UW–Porter Falls fields twelve varsity teams — football, men's and women's soccer, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, wrestling, men's and women's track & field, baseball, softball and cross country — competing in NCAA Division III and the Wesconsin Collegiate Athletic Conference.
The Ironclads
Athletics teams were renamed the Ironclads in 1994, a nod to Wesconsin's WWII-era shipbuilding history. Colors are navy and gold. Home football and track events are held at Ironclad Stadium; basketball, volleyball and wrestling at the Ironclad Fieldhouse.
Rivalries
The annual football game against Chippewa Valley State — the Forge Bowl — is the best-attended event on the athletic calendar and typically draws over 4,000 fans. Porter also carries a long-running cross-country and track rivalry with the Eau Pleine Loggers.
Academics first, on paper and in practice
Division III athletics carry no athletic scholarships; every Ironclad is a full-time student first. The department reports a 96 percent four-year graduation rate among varsity athletes, above the campus average.
