Kendra Delacroix

Clinical Associate Professor, Communication & Media

Home / Departments / Communication & Media / Kendra Delacroix

Background

Kendra Delacroix is on the faculty of the Department of Communication & Media and holds a doctoral clinical degree from the University of Michigan and is licensed to practice. Before Porter, Kendra was a technical writer and documentation lead.

Kendra brings that practice into the classroom, teaching from real cases and current standards in media production and user documentation.

Areas of expertise

  • Media production
  • User documentation
  • Applied practice and industry partnerships

Teaching

Kendra regularly teaches courses in Communication Studies, Professional & Technical Communication, English. Specific sections and syllabi are listed in the class schedule each term.

Class time is built around cases and real deliverables. Students work to professional standards, present to a critique or a client-style panel, and revise. Kendra keeps the connection to current practice explicit.

Advising and office hours

Kendra advises students in the Communication & Media programs and holds weekly office hours during the fall and spring terms, posted on the office door and in the course pages. Prospective students are welcome to email to arrange a visit or a call.

Advising conversations usually cover course sequencing, whether to add a minor or a concentration, and how classroom work connects to internships, research, or graduate study. Students who are undecided are welcome; part of the job is helping them narrow things down.

Recent and representative work

Kendra stays active in practice alongside teaching, through consulting, standards work, and applied projects in media production and user documentation. Representative items:

  • An applied project in media production with an industry or community partner.
  • A workshop or short course on user documentation for practitioners in the region.
  • Service on a standards, licensing, or advisory body related to media production.

Titles and venues here are illustrative. UW–Porter Falls is fictional; Kendra has no real publication record.

Get in touch

The fastest way to reach Kendra is email (kdelacroix@uwporterfalls.edu); messages during the fall and spring terms are usually answered within two business days. Prospective students and families can ask the Communication & Media department office to set up a call, a class visit, or a meeting during an admitted-student day.

Fictional information

UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. Kendra Delacroix is not a real person; this profile, the degree, the email address and the background are all invented.
