Mei Mbeki

Background

Mei Mbeki is on the faculty of the Department of Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa. Before Porter, Mei integrated robotic cells for an automation house.

Mei's work centers on teaching and curriculum in additive manufacturing and automation and robotics, including course redesign and mentoring newer instructors.

Teaching

Mei regularly teaches courses in Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology. Specific sections and syllabi are listed in the class schedule each term.

Mei designs courses around clear, visible learning outcomes, frequent retrieval practice, and prompt feedback, and revises the sequence each year based on where students actually get stuck.
