Background

Talia Sato is on the faculty of the Department of Communication & Media and holds a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University. Before Porter, Talia produced video and podcasts for a media company.

Talia's work centers on teaching and curriculum in rhetoric and persuasion and information design, including course redesign and mentoring newer instructors.

Teaching

Talia regularly teaches courses in Communication Studies, Professional & Technical Communication, English. Specific sections and syllabi are listed in the class schedule each term.

Talia designs courses around clear, visible learning outcomes, frequent retrieval practice, and prompt feedback, and revises the sequence each year based on where students actually get stuck.
