What's there
The campus garden sells its own surplus alongside eight to twelve local Porter County producers — vegetables, honey, baked goods, occasionally a food truck — run as a joint effort between Sustainability and Founders Union.
Accepting student meal dollars
Select vendors accept Porter Card dining dollars, not just cash, specifically so students on a meal plan can participate without needing spare cash on a Wednesday afternoon.
In and around Porter Falls
Porter Falls sits on the Porter River, and the university's sustainability commitments are mostly about water and heat: the Millrace restoration, rain gardens, and fourteen buildings surviving a Wesconsin winter as efficiently as possible.
The practical details
When: Wednesdays, May through October. Where: Founders Union plaza. Vendors: The campus garden plus 8–12 local Porter County producers. Anything time-sensitive — an accommodation, a booking, a deadline — is worth confirming directly before you rely on it, because the specifics here can change from term to term.
If you have a question
The office behind this is Office of Sustainability (Founders Union, Room 015). Call (715) 555–0240 or email sustainability@uwporterfalls.edu during the fall and spring terms, or sign in to MyPorter to send a message or book a time. If it turns out another office owns the question, they will route it rather than send you back to the start.
Fictional information
UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. Every office, person, building, phone number and statistic on this page is invented; nothing here describes a real institution or a service you can actually contact.
