About this program
Mechanical Engineering at UW–Porter Falls is built around a design-build-test sequence that starts in the first year: students spend as much time in the machine shop and materials lab as in lecture. The senior capstone partners teams with regional manufacturers on real production problems.
What you will be able to do
- Apply statics, dynamics and thermodynamics to real mechanical systems
- Design and machine components using CAD/CAM and CNC tooling
- Run finite-element and thermal-fluid analysis on production parts
- Manage a two-semester capstone project for an industry sponsor
