How travel season works
Six counselors spend September 15 through December 3, 2026 on the road: about 140 high school visits and 22 college fairs this fall. A high school visit is usually a 30-minute session in the counseling office or library, often over lunch; sign up through your school counselor. Wednesdays are reading days, when counselors stay in Porter Falls and work through applications — and run virtual visits.
The tables below list a selection of stops; the full list, updated every Monday, comes from your counselor. Visits before October 9 are kept for reference. Not on the list? Request a visit or a virtual session — see the last section.

Requesting a visit
- High school counselors can request one of the remaining November slots by emailing admissions by October 30, 2026, with two or three possible dates.
- Virtual visits run on Wednesdays, for a class, a club or one family, on 48 hours’ notice.
- Coming to us instead: the next Ironclad Preview Day is Saturday, October 24, and weekday tours run year-round (campus tour options); the virtual tour is always open.
- Spring 2027: transfer and technical college visits run February through April, junior visits in April. The spring schedule posts January 11, 2027.
Juniors meeting a counselor this fall should keep the junior timeline handy.
Fictional information
UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. The counselors, high schools, towns, college fairs and visit times on this schedule are all invented, including every town name; no counselor is coming to any real school, and no real fair is listed here.
