Dining dietary accommodations

How a student with a food allergy, celiac disease, or another medical dietary need gets a safe plan in the dining halls.

Home / Dining dietary accommodations

How it works

The campus dietitian meets one-on-one, walks the student through which stations and ingredients are safe, sets up access to the allergen-free pantry (a separate prep area with its own equipment), and arranges made-to-order meals for anything the line can't safely cover. It's a plan, revisited if it isn't working.

The meal plan question

The default is to keep the plan and make dining work, because it usually can. Where a student's need genuinely can't be met on campus, the plan can be reduced or released with the dietitian's and a provider's sign-off — not as a first resort.

In and around Porter Falls

Day-to-day life at Porter runs between Founders Union, the residence halls on the south quad and North Campus across the Riverfront Trail. The Porter Loop shuttle and a compact footprint mean most students can get anywhere on campus in under fifteen minutes on foot.

The practical details

Start with: The dietitian in Dining Services, and a note from a treating provider for a medical need. What's arranged: A tour of safe stations, a dedicated allergen-free pantry, made-to-order meals when needed. Meal plan: Kept, adjusted, or in rare cases released with documentation. Anything time-sensitive — an accommodation, a booking, a deadline — is worth confirming directly before you rely on it, because the specifics here can change from term to term.

If you have a question

The office behind this is Dean of Students Office (Founders Union, Room 200). Call (715) 555–0182 or email deanofstudents@uwporterfalls.edu during the fall and spring terms, or sign in to MyPorter to send a message or book a time. If it turns out another office owns the question, they will route it rather than send you back to the start.

Fictional information

UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. Every office, person, building, phone number and statistic on this page is invented; nothing here describes a real institution or a service you can actually contact.
