About the position

The Office of Admissions, led by Director Trudy Solberg, works from the restored 1911 depot that serves as the Welcome Center. Counselors are assigned by county, and this counselor will take over the northeast territory: 14 counties and about 60 high schools, from the Lake City suburbs to schools with graduating classes of 30. The territory feeds roughly 1,100 applications a year.

Travel runs September through November, with a lighter spring schedule of junior visits and transfer fairs. A state fleet car is provided for territory travel. The counselor assignments page shows how the territories are currently divided.

Fictional information

UW–Porter Falls is a work of parody. This job posting is invented: there is no admissions counselor position, territory, salary, or search committee, Lauren Hegg does not exist, and applications sent anywhere go nowhere.
